Three varieties to get to know.
| Variety | What to expect | Try it with |
|---|---|---|
| Broccoli | Mild, fresh brassica flavour | Sandwiches, eggs and grain bowls |
| Radish | A peppery bite and crisp stems | Avocado toast, tacos and salads |
| Pea shoots | Sweet, fresh pea flavour | Noodle bowls, wraps and salads |
Explore these flavours as you plan your first grow. Check each pack for its included varieties.
Set up for a good first grow.
Use seeds sold for edible microgreen growing, a clean growing tray and suitable growing medium. A bright indoor position or an appropriate grow light can support seedlings. Check the seed supplier’s instructions for soaking, sowing density, light and watering.
Your daily check-in.
Keep the growing medium moist without leaving it waterlogged. Allow airflow and check your crop each day. Growing time varies; many microgreens are ready around 7–21 days from sowing, depending on variety and conditions.
Harvest the part you’ll eat.
Use clean scissors to cut the shoots above the growing medium. Roots and growing medium stay in the tray. Follow the seed supplier’s handling and storage guidance. For a new crop, clean your equipment and start with fresh seeds and medium.
Give ordinary meals a fresh finish.
Scatter radish microgreens over toast just before serving. Tuck broccoli microgreens into a sandwich. Add pea shoots to a salad for a sweet, crisp lift. Start with a small handful and find your favourite combination.
When your grow needs a little help.
My crop is growing unevenly.
Check whether you have mixed varieties with different growth rates. Review the seed supplier’s sowing instructions and how evenly light and moisture reach the tray.
How much water should I add?
There is no universal amount for every tray, medium and climate. Check the medium and follow your kit instructions. Moisture is needed, but standing water and waterlogged medium are a sign to review your setup.
Can I use any seeds or growing tray?
Use seeds intended for edible microgreen growing and a suitable, clean tray. Follow the supplier’s medium and seed instructions. Check that your growing medium and refills suit your tray.
Something looks or smells wrong.
Do not taste a questionable crop to check it. Pause harvesting and seek guidance from the seed supplier. You can also send us a description through the contact form.
What happens after the harvest?
Follow your seed and kit instructions for handling, storage and cleaning. Plan for fresh seeds and growing medium for your next crop rather than assuming every variety will regrow.
Keep growing.
